About Hanuman Chalisa PDF

Hanuman Chalisa PDF (hanumanchalisapdf.in) is a devotee’s website, run by me, Saurabh Satyaram, from Jaipur. It gives the Hanuman Chalisa in twelve languages, with its meaning in simple words, free PDFs to print, audio and video. I am not a pandit or a scholar, just a bhakt who wanted one calm and correct place for the paath.

Why I Made This Site

The Hanuman Chalisa has been part of my day since I was young. Many websites I found were hard to read or not very clear, so I wanted a simple, respectful place that anyone in the family can use.

My reason comes from chaupai 7 of the Chalisa, which says Hanuman ji used all his learning for Shri Ram’s work:

बिद्यावान गुनी अति चातुर।
राम काज करिबे को आतुर॥

Bidyavan Guni Ati Chatur ।
Ram Kaj Karibe Ko Atur ॥

It means: “You are learned, full of good qualities and very clever, and you are always eager to do Shri Ram’s work.” In the same spirit, I use the skills I have for this seva.

How Every Verse Is Checked

The verses on this site follow the Gita Press, Gorakhpur edition, and every line in every script is checked against it before a page goes live. The Gujarati, Bengali, Telugu and other scripts are written from the Hindi by fixed letter-for-letter rules, so every language gives the same text. Where other books print a word differently, the page says so once. The same care goes into the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ashtak, the Hanuman aarti and the Mangalwar vrat katha.

Who Writes the Meanings

The meanings and the other pages are written by me in simple words, from my own understanding. I check them against two published commentaries: Jagadguru Rambhadracharya ji’s Mahaviri Vyakhya and Swami Harihar ji’s Shri Hanuman Chalisa (Vyakhya Sahit). Learned people explain some chaupais in other ways too; for a deeper reading, ask a pandit or read one of these books.

The pages in Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi were checked by native speakers from our community.

Sharing What You Find Here

The verses belong to everyone, and you are welcome to print and share the PDFs. How you may use the PDFs and pictures, and who owns the recordings, is on the disclaimer page.

If you find a wrong letter in a verse, a meaning that seems off or a link that does not work, write to me on the contact page. Please name the page and the line. I check it against the printed text and the commentaries, and correct the page if it is wrong.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions people often ask about this site and the text it follows.

Which Hanuman Chalisa text does this site follow?
The Gita Press, Gorakhpur edition, from its book Bhaktaraj Hanuman. Every line in every script is checked against it, so the Hindi, the English letters, Telugu and every other language give the same text.
Is the Hanuman Chalisa on this site shuddh (correct)?
Every line is checked letter by letter against the printed edition. Popular versions sometimes differ in small words, for example विद्यावान for बिद्यावान, and a few scholars print some lines differently. If you still see a slip, please tell us on the contact page.
In which language was the Hanuman Chalisa first written?
In Awadhi, the language of the Awadh region around Ayodhya, by Goswami Tulsidas ji. It is not Sanskrit. How and when it was written is on the history page.
Who translated the Hanuman Chalisa on this site?
The meanings in all twelve languages are written for this site in simple words, and checked against the commentaries of Rambhadracharya ji and Swami Harihar ji. They are our own, not taken from any book. All twelve are on the meaning page.
Can I print and share the Hanuman Chalisa PDFs for free?
Yes. The PDFs are free to download, print and share with family, friends, a mandir or a satsang. Please do not sell them. If you put them on another website, a link back to this site is welcome.
Are the Hanuman Chalisa audio and videos here copyright free?
Not all of them. The recordings belong to their singers and channels; this site only shows them with the words. Before using one in your own video, check its licence on its source page or ask its owner.
